Increases in Licensing for Carousel Calendars
Exeter-based publisher and distributor, Carousel Calendars, has had an excellent year in 2015, distributing over 6,500,000 calendars and diaries. As the largest distributor of calendars in the UK, they offer over 1000 titles to a wide range of retailers and clients, including large grocers, high street shops, small independents and traditional bookshops. Carousel Calendars also distributed over 400 titles for other leading UK publishers, as well as a selection from the US, creating a one-stop shop for customers where all the top calendars and diaries could be found.
Growth in Licensing
Carousel Calendars’ extensive range covers all categories, from humour to entertainment, sport, travel, animals and regional, and also a variety of highly popular licensed and charity titles.
Licensing has once again proven itself a benefit to both Carousel Calendars and their partners, with sales revenue increasing year on year and up 11.5% on 2013, and licensing deals increasing by 22% over the last three years. For 2017 Carousel Calendars will hold 95 licenses, which include the addition of some very exciting brands such as Beryl Cook, Marmite, Royal Horticultural Society and Tottering By, ensuring a highly attractive and varied range for retailers and customers.
Sales expansion into the rest of the world continues to be a key aim for Carousel Calendars, and is proving successful. Expansion into North America has been achieved through publishing gift envelopes for the USA and Canadian markets. Growth in Australia also continues, with a significant increase in titles sold there, including a new title called ‘Australian Cricket Legends’.
Popular Titles
Overall sales have continued to rise for Carousel Calendars, with key retailers increasing their purchases. Licensed titles produced by the publisher have proven very popular with customers, with the top five sellers including big names such as Emma Bridgewater, Banksy, Where’s Wally, RSPB and Hallmark.
